Pac Ma banyan tree historical relic (approved as a historical relic according to Decision No. 462/QD-UBND dated February 28, 2007 of the Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee) : 63 years ago, the Pac Ma banyan tree in Pac Ma village, Pac Ma commune, Quynh Nhai district, was a tree that grew naturally about 300m from inter-provincial road 171 on a hill. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, Quynh Nhai district had an important strategic military position and was a solid springboard for the Western Army to advance through the Da River defense line to liberate Lai Chau. The banyan tree is a testament to the victory of our soldiers in the Northwest campaign in 1952. Local people often call it the Pac Ma banyan tree. Currently, banyan trees still thrive on the hills, surrounding the vast rivers and lakes of Son La hydroelectric power plant. (Panorama of Pac Ma banyan tree, Pa Ma Pha Khinh commune)
